IELTS Part 2 Speaking

Below are some practice cards for IELTS Part 2 Speaking:

  1. Use the 1-minute prep time wisely: Jot down key points or ideas to cover (not full sentences) on the provided paper. Focus on the bullet points in the task.

  2. Speak for the full 2 minutes: If you finish early, expand your ideas—add examples, feelings, or related details.

  3. Structure your answer: Use a clear beginning, middle, and end. For example, start with an introduction, discuss the bullet points, and finish with a conclusion or personal reflection.

  4. Don’t memorize answers: Use natural language. The examiner can tell if you’ve memorized a response.

  5. Use a variety of vocabulary and grammar: Show off your range with descriptive words, complex sentences, and different tenses (past, present, future).

  6. Stay calm and keep talking: If you make a mistake, don’t panic. Correct yourself if needed and continue confidently.
